Everyone in Brisbane was taken aback by a brave German Shepherd’s heroic actions.
Her owner was rescued as a result of the dog’s efforts in treading water for more than 11 hours.
When some fishermen noticed the German Shepherd swimming nonstop around some floating items, they suspected something was wrong.
They requested assistance from the Moreton Bay police department, which responded immediately.
Later, a helicopter, Coast Guards, and four police vessels assisted in their rescue.
Initially, they dragged the exhausted, poor dog from the water and took her to a nearby vet clinic. Heidi, the dog’s name, escaped with minor injuries.
After rescuing the dog, the rescue team discovered Heidi’s owner a few minutes later. The elderly man was scaling the sunken boat.
Later, he revealed that his 13.5-foot vessel lost power, filled with water, and began to sink.
He and his clever dog were separated at that precise moment. Heidi had been swimming for 11 hours when she was discovered by the fishmen.
A German Shepherd surprisingly managed to tread water for at least 11 hours, saving his owner’s life. Fortunately, the owner was not only saved but also escaped with no injuries. So he was saved by his brave and devoted dog.
Shortly after this incident, the police department issued a safety warning to anyone traveling offshore.
