A passer-by rescued a baby who was left to die by his mother
That Saturday evening, California resident Azita Milanian was invited to the dance, but she refused. I decided that it would be better to walk through the forest with dogs. Azita walked along the path. Suddenly one of her dogs began to scrape the ground.
Azita came closer and saw two legs sticking out of the ground.
“At first I thought it was a dead animal, when I suddenly heard the cry of a baby,” says Azita.
The woman rushed to dig the dirt with her hands. Seeing the child at the bottom of the shallow grave, she cried out. The baby was alive. Taking out the child, wrapped in a blue towel, the woman began to convulsively clean the dirt from the nose and mouth of the child.
«Please do not die. I won’t leave you! Just don’t die,” Azita kept repeating.
The umbilical cord still dangled from the baby’s belly — he had been born only a few hours ago.
The woman could not get through to 911.
Then she ran out into the road with the child, braked the car and asked the driver to contact the sheriff. Waiting for help, Azita tried to calm the baby.
“He grabbed my finger and stopped crying,” Azita recalls. “At that moment, I was overwhelmed with emotions. What sick person could do that?! Bury a living child!»
When the police arrived at the scene, they saw Azita kneeling with a child in her arms. After examining the baby, the police called an ambulance.
The child’s temperature dropped to 27 degrees. A little more, and the baby would have died.
But the child survived and quickly recovered. In the children’s hospital, this case was called a miracle.
The nurses quickly came up with a name for the baby — the baby was named Christian. And soon people from all over the state, having learned about the miraculous salvation, began to send the boy toys, gifts, clothes and donations.
A few days later, Azita visited the child in the hospital. When she saw the baby in the incubator, she burst into tears. But she did not dare to adopt Christian. Her photo was already in all the news — the woman was afraid that the one who got rid of the child would find him and her.
However, the boy’s mother never showed up. The police combed the whole area with dogs, knocked on every house — all to no avail.
“Most likely, the mother of the baby is a frightened teenage girl who did not know what to do,” police said.
Azita did not want to lose touch with Christian. She contacted Child Protection Services several times to meet with the boy. But after a year of trying, she found out that the baby was adopted and now she will not be able to see him.
Then Azita decided to found the organization «Children of the same planet», which helps orphans around the world. She expected that one day Christian would also apply to this organization.
“I was hoping that he would find me the same way we found each other that day,” says Azita.
Christian grew up in Los Angeles without knowing his history for a long time. His father, who died a few years ago, served in the army and later worked in the police. Christian’s mother taught law and was always fiercely protective of her son. At the volleyball matches where Christian played, she was his main fan.
Only at the age of 17 did the boy find out that he had been adopted. And a year later, the mother told the story of his salvation. Christian was not offended by his mother for hiding the truth.
“I grew up in a wonderful family, I have nothing to complain about,” the guy says.
Christian and Azita met on a radio show. A friend of his mother turned to reporters, telling the story of the boy. They found Azita.
«I waited!» was the first thing the woman said when she saw Christian.
A little later they went to the same forest. The always cheerful prankster Christian suddenly became quiet and serious. He saw the place where his biological mother buried him.
“This place could be my grave,” Christian said quietly. “And it would have been if it weren’t for my guardian angel.”
