We are accustomed to seeing talented vocalists succeed as a result of reality singing competitions such as The Voice, American Idol, and the Got Talent series.

People who do not actively seek fame are also being discovered. In this day and age of cellphones and the internet, all it takes for «the little guys» to feel like they’re in the spotlight is for one of their videos to go viral on the internet.

Kayla Slone, 21 years old, works at a Walmart in the city of Logan, West Virginia. At the time, not everyone was aware of her talent as a country singer, but she has a great voice for the genre.

Slone loves to sing and has always wanted to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.

Nonetheless, unlike many others, she did not actively visualize her goal materializing in her mind before it did.

Slone and her brother apparently put together a «homemade album» when she was 15 years old, but nothing came of it.

Slone was in the middle of her shift when she started singing loudly and enthusiastically while standing in line at the cash machine.

One of the customers decided to record the cashier’s impromptu performance on their phone.

Slone, who has a wonderful country voice, sang «Coat of Many Colors,» a well-known song first performed by Dolly Parton in 1971. Slone’s version of the song debuted in 2011.

Slone can be seen fiddling with a pen and wearing a name tag in the video. She sings the achingly sad lyrics out the window in a voice that could only belong to an angel.

«Despite the fact that we didn’t have much money, I felt as wealthy as I could be.»
In the multicolored coat made by my mother for me.»

Slone’s performance was both unrehearsed and improvised, and there was no microphone or other supplementary equipment present.

On the other hand, not even a short time after the film was uploaded to the internet, it swiftly gained widespread attention.

Customers began to recognize the West Virginia cashier, who was married to a coal miner, and began to request that she sing in the store.

Slone also started appearing on other interview shows, including one for ABC News.

She expressed her surprise that her performance was such a huge success during a recording at the Walmart where she worked.

She also told the news station that one of her dreams was to perform at the Grand Ole Opry.

Isn’t it incredible that her performance in the checkout line resulted in an invitation to perform on the Grand Ole Opry’s main stage?
