A 37-year-old American woman from Texas was the victim of an unskilled craftsman. Crystal Weinstock has gained popularity in social networks because of her eyebrows. But it is unlikely that she wanted such fame.
But it all started quite innocently. Krystal wanted to save time on makeup — who among us hasn’t even thought about that?
“As a busy mother, I realized that shaping my eyebrows and checking if they are the right shape takes a very long time. I thought microblading would be a great idea,” Weinstock told the Caters news agency.
Microblading is a manual eyebrow tattoo. With the help of a special apparatus, which looks like an ordinary pen, the master lays the pigment into the epidermis.
Thanks to the ultra-thin needles, the beautician can draw thin strokes that look like natural hairs.
But something went wrong.
The microblading procedure, which was carried out by Krystal, ended in failure: she began to bleed, preventing the pigment from penetrating into the skin.
Another alarming call was the duration of the procedure: the woman spent several hours with the master.
“When I first looked in the mirror, I couldn’t believe my eyes,” said the mother of two. The beautician assured that the swelling would subside, the situation would improve, but the next day the client’s eyebrows still looked like an aesthetic nightmare.
“In the evening I arrived home late, when the children were already asleep. And in the morning, my three-year-old daughter Elena came into the bedroom to wake me up, and she was so scared, says Weinstock.
“I saw the fear in my daughter’s eyes, my heart sank.” The frustrated victim of the master-incompetent managed to sign up for an emergency removal of the perm at the Her Velvet Hands salon, located in Houston.
But it was not possible to completely remove the paint. Weinstock needed more procedures in California, nearly 3,000 miles from her home. But that didn’t help either.
Experts say she may need another year for a full recovery. “Some of the sharper lines seem to be less noticeable but still visible,” she added.
Weinstock hopes that her story will help save other women from such a bad experience. “While I am embarrassed to share my story,
I hope it will make people understand how important it is to check the certificates of the masters and show them that their clients are real people who have to deal with the consequences,” said the mother of two children.
