She wanted to give up siсk children! That’s what made her change her mind
Julie McConnell was prepared to begin a new life after she remarried. She already had three children from a previous marriage, and after she and her husband produced a son, they decided to have another girl.
However, Julie was once again convinced that lifestyles are unexpected.When a woman reaches the age of 40, her chances of having a child with Down syndrome increase to at least one in one hundred. They’ve completed quite a bit of research.
They eventually determined that her twin boys needed to be delivered with this condition. Julie, at the age of 45, believed that the additional weight of raising children with special needs would be difficult.
Instead, they formed their own family with Dan, who wanted to adopt twins through the national Down Syndrome adoption network… But, after Julie and Dan found a new family for their sons, they discovered that they were always postponing signing the papers that were supposed to make the adoption official.
«We wanted to provide them with first-rate lifestyles, so we contacted them,» she explained. «They planned a meeting, so they went and met with remarkable families who shared their experiences with us.»
And it was at the gathering that the father and mother realised they could no longer let concern interfere with the replenishing of their own circle of relatives. «You love your children no matter what.» «When we decided we weren’t going to let our worry get in the way of our goals, it became an easy decision to make,» Julie explained.
Despite the fact that they were in the third trimester, they decided to have the sons. Milo and Charlie were born healthy and happy, and Julie and Dan cannot imagine their life without them. «When I saw them, my heart leapt out of my chest.» «I was stunned,» Julie explained. «It’s difficult to imagine lives without.»
