Teens rise at 4 a.m. to plough their neighbor’s driveway before she heads to dialysis
Teenagers are difficult to get out of bed in the morning, as any parent knows. Teenagers enjoy sleeping in on weekends, so it’s no wonder that a tale of a bunch of adolescent males who got up at 4:30 a.m. to shovel snow for a neighbour in need has gone viral.
Brian and Patrick Lanigan attend New Jersey’s Parsippany High School. They live next door to an elderly woman who need an ambulance to get to the hospital for dialysis. Brian shovelled his neighbor’s driveway the week prior so she could go to therapy.
When the brothers learned of the impending snowstorm, they realised they needed to clear her driveway so that the ambulance could arrive.
Patrick began contacting his acquaintances to see if they might assist him. Four of them arrived with shovels at 4:30 a.m. the next morning. The woman’s driveway was fully free after only 30 minutes of labour.
Brian and Patrick’s father took a picture of them and shared it on Twitter, and the photo of the «snow angels» rapidly went viral. People from all across the world complimented the lads for being considerate of their neighbours.
Teenagers have a nasty reputation, which is why it’s so heartwarming to witness a group of teenage boys doing something good for their neighbour. People like them are exactly what the world requires.
