The old truck has turned into a cozy nest for two, from which you don’t want to get out
First of all, let’s make a reservation: the occupation of the spouses allows them to lead a fairly free lifestyle. He is a stuntman and special effects director, she is a freelance advertising designer.
In addition, both of them photograph weddings on weekends. While the husband is driving, the wife is processing the footage. Not to say that they earn a lot of money, but enough to live on.
When Kourtney and Trevor first met, they were amazed at how much they had in common. Both dreamed of leading a life as simple as possible and loved to travel. And they managed to make their dream come true.
In 2018, they bought a decommissioned military truck at auction. Once it transported soldiers and military supplies, it was very strong, reliable and could drive on any off-road. Just what the travel fans need.
Trevor, like a man with arms growing out of the right place, converted the car from an ascetic truck into a comfortable motorhome himself: he welded the frame, made a warm floor, installed plumbing — the house even has a shower with a deep enough tray so that Courtney could splash around there .
“He literally created a house with his own hands, which I could not even dream of. It was not easy, I often doubted that we would succeed, but it was worth a try, ”says Courtney.
Of course it was worth it! At the beginning of 2019, the couple was already rolling into the distance with their pets: Doberman Herzog and an English bulldog named Louis. They had extremely limited luggage with them: only eight things for each. But that was enough.
From the inside, the truck now looks like a normal house, except for a very compact one: there is a kitchen with a real stove and oven, a toilet, a shower, a TV and a king-size bed. There are shelves with books and flowers on the walls, and lovely curtains on the windows.
In six months, they had already managed to travel around several states: there was work for them everywhere, and how many beautiful places the spouses had seen!
“Every day is an adventure. You never know where you will spend the night and what you will see when you wake up in the morning, ”Kourtney said.
Of course, it does not do without a fly in the ointment: the car has to be repaired from time to time, there are technical hitches.
“But on the other hand, there is such peace in the soul, such peace and happiness. I now look at life in a completely new way, ”Trevor smiles.
