As Gene Hackman and others are honored, Michelle Trachtenberg Is left out of the Oscars 2025 memoriam segment
Additionally missing from this year’s Academy Awards’ on-air segment were Shannen Doherty and Tony Todd.
One star was conspicuously absent from the 2025 Oscars ceremony, which paid tribute to the actors, directors, and other members of the Hollywood business who passed away in the previous year.
With a live rendition of Mozart’s «Requiem – Lacrimosa,» Morgan Freeman’s In Memoriam section featured late greats like James Earl Jones and Gene Hackman.
In a tribute to his recently departed friend and former co-star of Unforgiven, Hackman, Freeman even took a moment to note, «He won two Oscars, but more importantly, he won the hearts of film lovers all over the world.»
«Gene used to say that he didn’t consider legacy. Freeman, 87, continued, «I just hope people remember me as someone who tried to do good work.» Gene, I believe I speak for all of us when I say that you will be remembered for that and a lot more. Peace be with you, dear friend.
