A boy teaches his father a crucial lesson by giving all of his money to a homeless man
In October of last year, Justice Smith’s five-year-old son taught him a valuable lesson as they were making their way home from the dentist.
He shared the heartwarming story on Facebook, where it soon gained popularity.

I nearly made a huge mistake,
When they were stopped at a traffic signal in October 2021, Justice and his son Justus were returning from the dentist when they spotted a homeless guy in the median.
Justice wanted to give the man some money, but he didn’t have any, so all he could do was smile and wave.

Uncoached, Justice urged that I give the man the 30 cents he had in his pocket, according to a Facebook post that Justice made.
He freely acknowledged that he was initially «hesitant» to offer the mayor just thirty cents of his money.
When it happened, I told myself, «Dude, get over it. You’ve been teaching him this, and now that he wants to give it everything he’s got, are you going to let your own self-centeredness ruin what could be a lasting experience and a valuable teaching opportunity? We’ve been teaching him to lead by example, so now let him take the initiative. Let him offer this man what he can.
Justice was still undecided, though.
He understood that by remaining silent, he would be going against all he had taught his child.
«I nearly demonstrated to him that even while what he views as good is nice, it isn’t good enough to change someone’s life.
I almost convinced him that serving the needs of others was less essential than having pride.
He claimed that after «snapping out of that stupidity,» he rolled down his window and caught the other person’s eye.
«I apologized and said, «I don’t have any cash on me, but my son back here wants to give you everything he has right now.'» Just turned five!
God bless you little man,» the man replied. Thank you a lot!
Justice claimed that his son’s behavior started a domino effect, and he observed as several cars in front of him gave to the man who was standing in the street.
