Posing with Winona Ryder, Ortega appeared to be referencing one of the actress’s well-known original «Beetlejuice» gowns, according to the internet.

Winona Ryder and Jenna Ortega recently brought gothic glitz to the Venice Film Festival, with Ortega evidently paying homage to Ryder’s character Lydia Deetz’s famous crimson wedding gown from the original picture.
The Beetlejuice stars The 81st edition of the event began with a side-by-side photo by Beetlejuice.
The heart-shaped top and pleated bottom of Ortega’s translucent red two-piece Dior Haute Couture ensemble showed off her platform sandals. She added a red lip to finish the ensemble.
In contrast, Ryder donned a skirt suit with a cropped jacket and vest that contrasted with the buttons.
Along with filmmaker Tim Burton, other guests included Michael Keaton, Catherine O’Hara, Justin Theroux, Monica Bellucci, and Willem Dafoe. Ortega attended a picture call for the film earlier that day,
and she looked great in a custom burgundy Paul Smith suit that paid homage to Michael Keaton’s wedding attire from the original film. She accessorized the double-breasted suit with a ring and necklace.
Throughout the press tour, Ortega and her stylist Enrique Melendez have been creating jaw-dropping ensembles influenced by the original film.
The actress made an appearance in New York City on August 19th, donning an outfit that honored Ryder’s last appearance in the 1988 film.
