A group of pals has created their own small town in order to grow old together.
These four couples have been great friends for 20 years.
They had always wished to be closer to each other and to nature. They realised their desire by pooling their resources and constructing a tiny town for themselves. Llano Exit Strategy was the moniker they gave to their colony.
It comprises of only four comfortable residences on the banks of Texas’s Llano River.
Each house cost them around $40,000 to build.
The houses are 37 m2 in size and each has a spacious double bed, a sofa, a bathroom and a terrace. The house’s interior walls are made of plywood.
«It’s a sleek finish that doesn’t cost a lot,» project architect Matt Garcia adds.
The dwellings’ roofs are designed so that water may flow directly into enormous tanks that can hold up to 20 tonnes of water.’
«It’s a magical place, but it’s a little dry.» «We collect all the water we can get in the area and use it to water the local trees and grasses,» one of the pals, Fred Zipp, adds.
In the summer, the corrugated facade surface effectively reflects sunlight, keeping the house cool.
Furthermore, the residences have sealed insulated windows that will keep you warm in the cold.
«This place looks like something out of a Disney cartoon.» There are lynx, hares, deer, and several bird species. «The longer we live here, the more different animals we find,» Fred’s wife, Jodie Zipp, adds.
Of fact, this is not a genuine city, but in the United States, every community, even if only one person lives there, is deemed a city.
