Karis Oglesby, a 2-year-old, at least thinks so.
She interrupted an Army homecoming ceremony in the middle of it to meet her father, disregarding etiquette.
The father of Karis and his comrades formed a line while attending the homecoming ceremony at Fort Carson in Colorado.

For eight months, Karis hadn’t seen her father.
All of the soldiers in uniform had left their families in favor of a salary and a job in the army.

As a superior addressed the assembly over the loudspeaker, protocol required them to look at their family members in silence rather than hugging them because they had also made sacrifices while they were away.

Karis, though, didn’t have time for any of it.
She was so ecstatic to see her father when she finally did that she sprinted right past a higher ranking officer and into his arms.

First Lt. Daniel Oglesby, Cara’s father, stated, «She made eye contact with me in the throng and decided she wanted to say hello a little early so she rushed up and gave me a big embrace and I simply reciprocated the love back to her.»

Karis was desperate to give her father a hearty embrace because she missed him so much.

She was ecstatic. She caught sight of me from a few rows back. She was unable to control herself, and I wasn’t going to say no to her. Dad told news reporters that he was glad to see her.

Dad did had to think about it twice.
He stated that in order to know whether «breaking formation was good exercise,» he had to make that decision.
He never made the distinction between what is and is not ethical behavior.

He did nothing but hurl it to the breeze.
Oglesby lacked the empathy to hold back on giving his daughter a hug.

He then knelt down, hugged her, and kissed her on the forehead.

Before persuading her to reunite with her family, he gave her one final squeeze.
