A man constructs a tiny house for a homeless woman who has been sleeping in the dirt for a decade.
Few people take the time to get to know a homeless person and learn how they ended up on the streets by themselves.
But one Los Angeles hero got to know the homeless woman sleeping in the dirt outside his house and did something wonderful for her.

Irene «Smokie» McGee had been living on the streets of south Los Angeles since her husband died and she was evicted ten years ago.
Every day, the 60-year-old collected recycling to sell so she could buy food, and she slept on the ground at night.
She spent the majority of her time sleeping in front of an apartment building, where one of the residents became friends with her and learned about her situation.
«She’s a human being, a 60-year-old mother and grandmother sleeping in the dirt,» local Elvis Summers said.

Elvis and Irene became friends, and the young man, who couldn’t bear the thought of Irene sleeping on the streets every night, decided to assist her by building her a house.
The kind neighbor spent $500 on wood, had a local company donate siding and roofing, and used his construction experience to build her a house.

A man is on a mission to build tiny houses for the homeless in Los Angeles.
«All I wanted to do was build something safe and secure enough for her to be warm and comfortable.»
Five days later, Irene had a roof over her head.
‘I slept for half the day.’
«It felt so good, I was so relaxed,» Irene said of her first night in her new 3.5 x 8 ft apartment.
