According to Prince Harry, it is «still dangerous» for him to bring his bride Meghan Markle back to the UK. In the latest episode of «Tabloids on Trial» on ITV,
the Duke of Sussex expressed worries about the safety of his family more than four years after they had immigrated to the United States.
After several unsettling run-ins with the British press and the royal institution itself, the former senior royals left their jobs and packed up to move to California.
The couple’s situation worsened to the point where they were compelled to sue the Mirror Group newspapers for allegedly obtaining and publishing private material. This further strained their relationship with the British monarchy.
Prince Harry has subsequently been granted hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages after the four-year legal battle concluded in December with a ruling that the firm had improperly obtained intelligence for stories about him.
Harry made his first public statement following the outcome, stating that he felt «vindicated» by the decision and that it was a «monumental victory.» He also said elsewhere that, even with the victory,
he still thinks it would be «dangerous» to bring Markle and his kids back to the UK. In the recent ITV documentary, he stated, «They pushed me too far.» There came a time when making a decision was a matter of life or death. However, I don’t believe that anyone exists in the world.
