In a joint Instagram post on Thursday, August 29, the 54-year-old King of Queens star and the entrepreneur revealed their decision to call it quits on their 21-year marriage.
«All right, so here we are. We have chosen to file for divorce after 21 years of marriage and 28 years of dating,» the statement said. «This decision came after a lot of thought and care, and as hard as divorce is, we are approaching this with a positive outlook because we know it’s what’s best for us.»
It said, «We are proud of how we have worked through this together.» They said that they will «celebrate holidays together, watch our favorite tv shows together, and gather as a family» even as they work out their «new normal.»
«Now, the crucial query: why? In other words, like all humans, we evolved and became accustomed to inhabiting roles that no longer suited us. We’ve chosen to take this action, which represents who we are today, after much thought and deliberation,» they added.
