According to an exclusive source who spoke to PEOPLE, «Ben is casually dating» after Affleck and his ex-wife Jennifer Lopez reached a divorce settlement on January 6.
However, the insider continues, «this doesn’t seem to be a focus.»
The Oscar winner is «very focused on work,» according to the source, who also states that he spends long days at his office when he isn’t filming.
The 52-year-old actor reportedly also spends «a lot of time» with his and Jennifer Garner’s kids, Samuel, 12, Violet Anne, 19, and Seraphina Rose, 16. mentioning that Affleck and Samuel, his youngest child, spend «a lot of time» together.
According to the insider, «they are very close.»
Affleck’s casual dating comes after the Los Angeles County Superior Court ruled on Friday, February 21, that Affleck and Lopez are legally single and that their marriage is dissolved, according to court records that PEOPLE was able to access.
After calling off their initial engagement in January 2004, the ex-couple reignited their romance in 2021. They tied the knot in a small ceremony in Las Vegas in July 2022, and a celebration in Georgia the following month commemorated their marriage.
On August 20, 2024, exactly two years after the ceremony in Georgia, Lopez, 55, filed for divorce. She identified the couple’s separation date as April 26, 2024, and stated that irreconcilable differences were the cause of the breakup.
