After her daughter Violet returns home from Yale, Jennifer Garner laments the death of her beloved dog
After her dog Birdie passed away, Jennifer Garner announced on November 27 that she and her children, Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel, whom she shares with her ex-boyfriend Ben Affleck, were all able to say farewell.
Jennifer Garner is honoring her cherished animal companion. The 13 Going on 30 singer revealed that her dog, Birdie, passed away on November 21 not long after becoming ill.
Jennifer wrote, «It is hard to know how to write this,» in an Instagram post on November 27. «It seems nuts, given the world, to mourn a pet, but since we have shared Birdie with all of you, it only seems fair to let you know of her passing.»
The 52-year-old said she knew the Golden Retriever was ill when she stopped eating her food. She and her ex-husband Ben Affleck have three children together: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12.
«Birdie let us know on Thursday that she wasn’t feeling herself (a renowned foodie, Birdie never missed a meal),» Jen went on. «We were surprised to learn that, not only was she very ill, she was at the end of her life.»
And Jennifer’s doctor thought the dog waited until Thanksgiving to let go for a bittersweet reason, speculating that it might have been related to Violet’s return from Yale University, where she had enrolled as a freshman this past September.
