More than two years after getting married in July 2022, Lopez, 55, filed for divorce from Affleck, 52, on Tuesday, August 20, several sources confirmed to PEOPLE. The news was initially reported by TMZ.
Lopez stated April 26, 2024 as the date of separation in his filing with the Los Angeles County Superior Court. She is officially representing herself as she filed for divorce on her own without the assistance of a lawyer. The traditional wedding ceremony in Georgia celebrated its second anniversary on August 20, 2022, notwithstanding the couple’s July 17, 2022, marriage in Las Vegas.
There isn’t a prenuptial agreement, according to sources who spoke with TMZ; the singer did not clarify this.

For the first time, the couple formally split up in January 2004, but they stayed friends for the more than ten years that followed.
