All because of depression! This girl refused to cut her nails and broke the record

Diana Armstrong from the USA broke the world record for the length of nails and even entered the Guinness Book of Records. One might think that this is just a woman’s desire to grow the longest nails, but behind this lies a terrible reason.

In 1997, an American woman went shopping. Nothing foretold trouble, but suddenly the phone rang. The youngest daughter, in a panic, reported that the eldest did not wake up. It turned out that 16-year-old Latisha died in her sleep from an asthma attack.

It was the worst day of my life,” admitted Diana.

Literally the day before her death, the eldest daughter gave her mother a manicure, which is why Diana Armstrong refused to touch her nails after the child left.

The woman explained that in this way she can keep her daughter in memory and growing her nails helped her overcome depression.
At first, the children tried to persuade her to cut her nails, but after explaining the reason, they, on the contrary, began to support the parent.

And now, 25 years later, Armstrong’s nails are 1,306.58 centimeters long. Thanks to this, Diana got into the Guinness Book of Records, becoming the woman with the longest nails in the world.

The family helps her take care of the woman’s nails, because not a single manicurist takes on such work. And it’s not easy!

It can take her family five to ten hours to file and paint each nail, about 15 to 20 bottles of polish, and a woodworking tool to keep them as strong as possible. The last manicure took her family four days.

Any household tasks remain impossible for a woman. Diana is unable to zip up, has difficulty going to the bathroom and is unable to drive. Despite this, a woman is not ready to cut her nails for any money,

because the memory of a child is the most precious thing (read also: Tattoo mom proved in one video that appearance has nothing to do with raising children).

I think she would be proud of me, because she was the last one who did my manicure, ”summed up Diana Armstrong.
