On Wednesday, February 26, the famous actor, 95, and his wife, 64, were discovered dead at their Santa Fe, New Mexico, home with their dog.
Following their deaths at their Santa Fe home, Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa’s final pictures have been made public.
According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, which cited County Sheriff Adan Mendoza, the legendary actor, 95, and his wife, 64, a classical pianist, were discovered dead at their Santa Fe Summit home on Wednesday, February 26.
The outlet was informed by the sheriff that both the couple and their dog had passed away.
The actor, who had lived in Santa Fe, New Mexico, since the 1980s, was last seen with his wife on March 28, 2024, when they went to Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen for lunch. Hackman was spotted hanging onto his wife’s arm during the meal.
As they walked to the restaurant, Hackman, dressed casually, clutched onto a walking stick behind Arakawa, whom he married in 1991. The secretive couple rarely appeared together in public, and
it was believed that their most recent outing was at the 2003 Golden Globes, where Hackman received the Cecil B. DeMille Award for his «outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment.»
