Andrew Garfield responded to rumors that the 2016 film La La Land, starring Ryan Gosling and ex Emma Stone, is on his romance with the actress.
The City of Stars is not only sparkling for Andrew Garfield. The We Live In Time actress recently responded to rumors that Damien Chazelle’s film La La Land, which he wrote and directed, was inspired by his previous romance with Emma Stone.
«I guess people need something to believe,» Andrew, who began dating Emma shortly after filming The Amazing Spider-Man with her in 2010 and ended their relationship in 2015, told Esquire in an Oct. 2 profile.
«I have never, and I won’t ever, speak about or confirm or deny anything about my personal life with anyone, ever.»
While Andrew refused to reveal whether he was one of the fools who dreamed, Chazelle, who wrote the script with the film’s composer and Harvard classmate Justin Hurwitz for a senior thesis project, has previously revealed the source of inspiration for the film starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling.
Unfortunately for followers of Andrew and Emma’s romantic history, it has nothing to do with the ex-lovers. «The movie is not based on anything,» Damien told the Hollywood Reporter in 2016.
