While his father, King Charles, 76, is currently receiving treatment for an unidentified type of cancer, Prince William is assuming a more prominent position as a statesman by attending the reopening of the famous Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris on December 7.

At the iconic monument, the 42-year-old Prince of Wales will stand with scores of other international leaders, including Donald Trump, the president-elect. The cathedral has undergone a massive restoration after being destroyed by fire five years ago.
