In order to cap off the 2024 Paris Olympics, Tom Cruise took part in a little dangerous business. Known for creating his own stunts for years, the actor completed the Paris Olympics and helped prepare for the 2028 Games in Los Angeles by performing a skydiving feat in which he swung from the top of Stade de France and landed on the stadium’s field.

The 62-year-old star of Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part One welcomed the athletes to the stage while H.E.R., who had just finished singing the American national anthem, provided some guitar slaying.

After accepting the Olympic flag from gymnast Simone Biles and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass, he securely attached it to the back of a motorcycle and rode off into the sunset, or at least into a video that had been pre-recorded and followed his journey to Hollywood.

In the video, Cruise rode his motorcycle through the streets of Paris, past famous buildings including the Eiffel Tower, and onto an aircraft that was waiting.

To the tune of «By the Way» by Red Hot Chili Peppers, he remarked, «I’m on my way,» as he put on skydiving gear.

After jumping off of the jet, Cruise went to the famous Hollywood sign and changed the «O»s into Olympic rings. He then gave the flag to Olympic rider Kate Courtney.
