At the New York Film Festival, Angelina Jolie lights up the Maria red carpet with three of her children
Standing ovations at film festivals and positive reviews for the biography have lifted the Oscar winner’s spirits.

At the New York Film Festival, Angelina Jolie brought glamor and three of her six children.
The Oscar winner wore a sleeveless white gown and walked the red carpet with three of her children, Pax, 20, Zahara, 19, and Maddox, 23, for the festival’s Maria premiere on Sunday, Sept. 29, at Lincoln Center’s Alice Tully Hall. While Maddox donned a black suit and a black tie, Pax looked dapper in a gray suit, and Zahara likewise wore a white dress.

In the biopic, Jolie, 49, plays the late opera singer Maria Callas. Before Sunday’s red carpet event, the mother of six was celebrating Maria’s success, receiving standing ovations and positive reviews at the Telluride Film Festival and the Venice Film Festival, where Jolie sobbed.

Jolie spent months honing her singing voice in order to be ready for Maria, which opens in select cinemas on November 27 and streams on Netflix on December 11. She even received some much-needed support from her sons to help her relax.
«I spent nearly seven months training; I was extremely nervous,» Jolie recounted in an August press appearance. «I remember being so anxious when I sang for the first time. My sons were present and assisted in keeping the door closed.
