Bruce Willis can no longer talk or read due to worsening dementia
The American actor is struggling with a serious illness. Bruce Willis’s condition was revealed by his friend, producer Glenn Gordon Caron.
The Die Hard star left Hollywood last year due to a brain condition. A few months ago, the 68-year-old artist was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. Since then, Willis has hardly appeared in public.
One of those people whom Bruce sees regularly is producer Glenn Gordon Car. The actor became friends with him on the set of the TV series Moonlight Detective Agency.
The producer visits Willis about once a month, and also communicates with his wife Emma Heming and three daughters from his first marriage.
Glenn reported that Bruce had declined sharply over the past year. According to the producer, his communication abilities have deteriorated. A friend of the actor talked about how their meetings go.
“I have a feeling that in the first one to three minutes he will know who I am. He’s not talkative at all. He used to be an avid reader — he didn’t want anyone to know about it.
And now he doesn’t read. All these language skills are no longer available to him, and yet he is still Bruce. When you’re with him, you know he’s Bruce and you’re grateful to have him around. But the cheerfulness was gone,” admitted Kar.
According to the producer, this is not at all similar to the actor’s previous image. “What makes his illness so overwhelming to anyone who has ever spent time with Bruce Willis. There is no one who has more cheerfulness than him.
He loved life and… just loved waking up every morning and trying to live to the fullest,” Glen was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail, citing his interview with The Post.
The actor’s wife spoke about the rapid deterioration of his health two weeks ago. Emma Heming admitted that it was hard for her to hold back tears while looking at her husband. Bruce himself, according to her, does not always realize what is happening to him.
