Celine was diagnosed with «muscle stiffness syndrome» — a disease of the central nervous system that causes severe muscle spasm, fixing the body and making it impossible for a person to walk and talk.
In February, the artist was preparing to take the stage for the first time since the lifting of the quarantine, but the illness forced her to postpone these plans until the summer of 2023.
And today, the pop star has decided to completely cancel the tour at 42 venues in European cities. Dion fears that she will not have enough strength to perform.
“I’m sorry to disappoint you again. I tried hard to recuperate, but touring can be very difficult, even when you feel 100%. It’s not fair to you to keep postponing the show even though my heart is breaking.
It’s better to call it off now, until I’m really ready to go on stage. I want you to know I won’t give up… and I can’t wait to see you again,» Dion wrote.
Celine’s disease is rare and has no cure. Modern medicine allows you to slow down the progression of the disease with the help of some techniques. Patients may suffer from seizures caused by loud noises, according to the Daily Mail.
The singer in April put up for sale the house that was left after the death of her mother. The pop star plans to raise 150 million rubles.
