The 78-year-old Oscar-winning Moonstruck actress alleges in her new book Cher: The Memoir, Part 1 that her friend Fawcett, who passed away in 2009 at the age of 62, three years after being diagnosed with anal cancer, wished to live with Cher in her final days.

Cher, who has a lavish mansion in Malibu with views of the Pacific, says, «When Farrah was ill, she would ask if she could spend her last days in my home because she wanted to see the ocean.»

Cher claims that Ryan told her that she could stay at my house if she wanted to see the ocean. O’Neal, who passed away in December at the age of 82, spent a number of years with Fawcett starting in 1979. In 1985, they welcomed a son, Redmond, and were together until 1997.

They got back together in 2001 following O’Neal’s leukemia diagnosis. Following Fawcett’s passing, the actor told PEOPLE, «I loved her with all my heart.»
