Creepy story! A woman’s leg was amputated after a bad shave
Recently, many girls prefer laser hair removal to shaving. There are many reasons for this choice: epilators guarantee long-term results, help get rid of hair in hard-to-reach places and save you from the appearance of ingrown hairs.
But the main argument in favor of hair removal is its safety. The slightest damage to the skin with a razor can result in inflammation and redness, but sometimes the blood runs cold from the effects of shaving.
For Briton Tanya Chernozhukov, shaving her legs was an everyday procedure, during which everyone could accidentally cut themselves.
That is why a small scratch on her right leg did not become a cause for concern, and even more so did not make her see a doctor.
“I just said, ‘Ay. Then she completely forgot about her. I went through this a thousand times, so I just put a piece of tissue on the wound and waited for it to stop bleeding, ”the girl recalls.
At that moment, Tanya did not even know what a catastrophe this abrasion would turn into.
After shaving, the woman’s wound became infected, and after a while a scab formed there, the size of a small coin. At first, Tanya did not see the point in sounding the alarm and running to the hospital, but soon everything changed dramatically.
“A week later, my leg hurt so badly that I decided to go to the hospital. I was hospitalized. The doctors said it was an ulcer and prescribed strong antibiotics,” said Chernozhukov.
However, the course of treatment did not bring the expected results, and the situation continued to deteriorate. A few weeks later, the leg from ankle to knee turned black and green.
But the troubles did not end there either: the hellish pain did not subside, and soon the woman was diagnosed with diabetes, which did not allow Tanya to cope with the disease.
Swelling of the infected wound hampered the blood supply, and the tissues began to die. A terrible thing happened — Tanya developed gangrene.
“I had to drink more and more painkillers. It felt like a thousand needles were piercing me. I had to put my foot in a plastic bag. So much liquid flowed out of it that I felt like I was in a horror movie, ”recalls the heroine of the article.
It became more difficult to cope with unbearable pain, and Tanya had less and less strength to fight. The battle with a terrible disease lasted a year and a half, but no procedures helped, and gangrene only grew.
Then experts suggested that Chernozhukov think about amputation.
“The doctors said that you can do without it, but the ulcer may not heal for several more years or never at all. I said: “OK, cut it,” Tanya recalls.
When Chernozhukov came to, she was shocked. Only a few inches were left of the leg, and the sight of it evoked chilling horror. However, amputation really saved, stopping the spread of infection.
Tanya spent another five months in the hospital, and after the operation she had to learn to walk and sit again. Now the heroine hopes that she will be given a prosthesis. At the same time, shaving her legs causes her panic fear!
At the same time, Chernozhukov does not believe that her case can be called inspiring or motivating. The woman is sure: she had no other choice, but she does not regret the operation a bit. In the near future, Tanya intends to return to work, buy a car and continue to live a normal life.
“I have to be strong. I want to tell people that there is light at the end of the tunnel,” the girl said in an interview with the Daily Mail. “And I do my best.”
