Devoted single father raises son with all his heart, only to discover one day that the boy is not his
A man’s wife abandoned him one month after the birth of his son, leaving him to care for their child alone. The man struggled at first to adjust to his new role as a single parent, but he eventually became more at ease with his responsibilities.

Dominique Hermann of New Jersey was overjoyed when his third child, Sa’kye Dominique, was born on January 22, 2019. Despite having previous fatherhood experience, Hermann was as excited and overjoyed as a first-time father.
Nonetheless, Hermann’s life was turned upside down by an unexpected event just a month after his child was born. His child’s mother left and did not return.
The Divorced Father
Following the unexpected departure of the baby’s mother, Hermann was forced to raise his child as a single parent. Despite his lack of prior experience caring for an infant, he rose to the occasion and accepted the responsibilities of fatherhood.
The father revealed that he had hired a babysitter who worked for free. In addition, his family helped him raise the child, and Hermann quickly adapted to his new role. Dominique was four months old when his parents began assisting him.
The single father imagined his baby’s future while wondering why fate had put him in such a difficult situation. He had no idea at the time that his baby would not be with him forever.
A Surprising Discover
Hermann became a father for the third time after turning 40, and he admitted that having a child was not high on his priority list. Nonetheless, he tried to be the best father he could be to his newborn, not realizing that life would soon present him with a difficult challenge.
After nine months of raising his child, Hermann was abruptly informed that he was not Dominique’s biological father. As a result, he was forced to give up custody of his 10-month-old son to another person.
Returning His Child
Hermann was devastated when he learned that Dominique’s biological father wanted him back. He had to obey a court order and prepare to say goodbye to his beloved child, which he had never expected or imagined would happen.
Hermann frequently updated his Instagram account (@chefdomcreates) with updates about his child. The father revealed in a touching post that he had to return Dominique to his biological father «like a rented toy.» He went on to say:
