On Sunday, September 29, the 78-year-old «9 to 5» singer paid a moving homage to Kristofferson on Instagram. Kristofferson passed away on September 28 at the age of 88. He was a prolific and well-rounded writer, actor, and friend, and she remarked, «What a great loss, what a great writer, what a great friend.»

She ended, «I will always love you,» and signed the note «Dolly» with an image of a butterfly.Throughout the years, the fellow country music icons sang several duets to hits like «From Here to the Moon and Back» and «Put It Off Until Tomorrow.» They were lifelong friends.

The Winning Hand was a collaborative compilation album that the two released in 1982 with Willie Nelson and Brenda Lee.
