Dolly Parton laments her friend Kris Kristofferson’s great loss, saying, I will always love you

On Sunday, September 29, the 78-year-old «9 to 5» singer paid a moving homage to Kristofferson on Instagram. Kristofferson passed away on September 28 at the age of 88. He was a prolific and well-rounded writer, actor, and friend, and she remarked, «What a great loss, what a great writer, what a great friend.»
She ended, «I will always love you,» and signed the note «Dolly» with an image of a butterfly.Throughout the years, the fellow country music icons sang several duets to hits like «From Here to the Moon and Back» and «Put It Off Until Tomorrow.» They were lifelong friends.
The Winning Hand was a collaborative compilation album that the two released in 1982 with Willie Nelson and Brenda Lee. Later, the album served as the basis for a television program of the same name, presented by Johnny Cash (who also authored the liner notes for the album), and which aired in 1985.
On September 19, Parton posted a throwback video of herself and Kristofferson belting out the wacky hit «Ping Pong» from The Winning Hand on Facebook.
She captioned the photo, saying, «There’s noting like making music with friends!» «Having performed alongside so many brilliant singers throughout the years makes me incredibly happy. @KrisKristofferson Which of my duets is your most beloved?»
