During a recent visit to the UK, Prince Harry stayed at Althorp, the childhood home of Princess Diana
During his recent trip to the United Kingdom, Prince Harry paid a moving visit to Althorp House, the ancestral home of his late mother, Princess Diana.
The Duke of Sussex was hosted by his uncle Charles Spencer. After making an unexpected appearance at his late uncle Lord Robert Fellowes’ funeral service on August 29,
the 39-year-old Duke of Sussex stayed at Althorp House with his uncle Charles Spencer, PEOPLE has discovered. When PEOPLE contacted Spencer, he declined to comment. At the service, which Prince William, 42, and Diana’s other sister, Lady Sarah McCorquodale, also attended, Fellowes, who was married to Diana’s sister Lady Jane, was honored.
Two days prior to August 31, which would have been Diana’s 27th anniversary of death, the service was held. Diana is buried on the island in the center of Round Oval Lake at Althorp. Diana was 36 years old when she passed away after an automobile accident in Paris.
Charles, the 9th Earl Spencer, paid tribute to Princess Diana on Instagram on the anniversary of his sister’s passing by creating a collage of images and newspaper articles.
Among the pictures in the collection were one from Diana’s baptism and another of her as a little child playing outside.
His birthday was graciously celebrated with a wonderfully handmade boat that he shared with his friends. It was carefully planned so he could travel to the island he visits.
