Emily Blunt’s kids thought she was meanest person after seeing Devil Wears Prad
Emily Blunt admitted her and John Krasinski’s daughters Hazel, 10, and Violet, 7, thought she played her character in The Devil Wears Prada a little too convincingly.

Unlike florals for spring, Emily Blunt’s children don’t think her performance in The Devil Wears Prada was groundbreaking.
In fact, her daughters Hazel, 10, and Violet, 7—whom she shares with husband John Krasinski, 44—thought she portrayed Miranda Priestly’s (Meryl Streep) high-strung assistant Emily Charlton too well. As Emily told Page Six in an interview published Sept. 23, “They thought I was the meanest person they’ve ever met.”

And while her character may have been unbelievably cruel to Anne Hathaway’s Andy Sachs, the Oppenheimer actress had nothing but fond memories of shooting the film.
“We just had the time of our lives on it,” Emily continued. “It’s incredible that it has such an indelible fingerprint on people and that it’s people’s standby, feel-good movie. It’s quoted to me every week.”

It also holds a special place in her heart for another reason.
“At the time I was young, it was my first big movie,” she explained. “I remember my agent calling me and telling me about the opening weekend. I was like, ‘Is that good?’ I didn’t know what was good.”
