Eva Longoria explains why she left the United States
Eva Longoria, who currently divides her time between Mexico and Spain, claimed that President-elect Donald Trump is the reason she «didn’t move out» of the United States.
Regarding her decision to leave the United States, Eva Longoria is correcting the record.
The Desperate Housewives star explained that her decision to move her family out of Los Angeles to homes in Spain and Mexico, including husband José Bastón and their 6-year-old son Santiago, had nothing to do with President-elect Donald Trump’s recent election victory over Vice President Kamala Harris.
On November 15, she called her friend Ana Navarro on The View: Behind the Table podcast and asked, «Will you please let them know I didn’t move out of the United States because of Trump?»
«I didn’t leave because of the political environment,» Longoria went on. I left because I had to go there for employment.
While acknowledging that leaving the United States also meant «being away from the constant 24-hour news cycle,» the Texas native called rumors that she had moved because of American politics «divisive.»Additionally, the 49-year-old stated, «We can’t be that way right now.»
Longoria actually noted that she had previously listed her job as one of the numerous reasons for her move. In an interview with Marie Claire that was published on November 13, she pointed out that the entertainment business was «changing» even before the pandemic.Regarding filming in Hollywood, Longoria said, «The vibe was different,» adding, «it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now.»
