The annual class picture is a big deal when you’re a kid. It’s so much fun to be able to choose your own outfit!

However, for some children, it can be frightening because they are concerned about what others will think of them in their everyday clothes, and some children dislike posing for photographs.

Kaylieann Steinbach, three years old, was looking forward to what would happen the night before her class picture. But when she saw the clothes her parents had chosen for her, she was disappointed.

Then she decided to dress herself.

Kayliean admires super heroes, particularly Superman and Supergirl, but because she cannot hear the letter «S,» she refers to them as «Pooterman» and «Pootergirl» in her world.

There was no doubt about what she wanted to wear to the class picture.

«Pootergirl!» she exclaimed as her parents began to dress her in various outfits.

Dad «I couldn’t argue with that,» Austin Steinbach told the Huffington Post.
Kaylieann got her wish and dressed up as a superhero. She was overjoyed when she posed for the camera with her doll in her supergirl outfit.

Austin says she wears other costumes to school and that the teachers and students are always curious about which super hero outfit she will be wearing that day.

Austin posted Kaylieann’s class photo on Reddit and couldn’t believe how many people commented on it. He received numerous messages of encouragement.

«The response and turnout from the deaf community has been incredible,» he said. «I’m still not able to read all of the messages of encouragement and kindness that people have sent me. «I had no idea her photo could have touched so many people,» Austin Steinbach told the Huffington Post.
