Following Taylor Swift’s breakup, Matty Healy raises eyebrows with a casual romantic comment
After becoming «more well-known» after dating Taylor Swift, Matty Healy of the 1975 talked about the kind of music he wants to create and called creating songs about real life «obvious.»

Matty Healy is getting over rumors of casual romance.
The 1975’s leader, who briefly dated Taylor Swift in early 2023, talked about what motivates him to write music now that he «became a way more well-known public figure for loads of different reasons.» Swifties are also questioning whether he was making fun of Taylor’s songwriting with his eye-opening remarks.

«I would kind of just be lying if I made a record about, I don’t know, all the stuff that was said about me or my casual romantic liaisons,” Matty stated on the Oct. 22 episode of the Doomscroll podcast, “or whatever it may be that I’ve kind of become known for, just because I was famous.»

Following what seemed to be a reference to his relationship with Taylor—who has been dating Kansas City Chiefs football player Travis Kelce since summer 2023—Matty also seemed to talk about her music, which is based on personal experiences (the songs “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived” and “Fortnight,” which are allegedly about Matty, are on Taylor’s Tortured Poets Department album).
