This holiday season, Machine Gun Kelly is reconnecting with his emo side.
The «Bloody Valentine» singer uploaded a clip of his pop-punk version of «Last Christmas» from NBC’s A Motown Christmas special two days after it was announced that he had split from his pregnant fiancée Megan Fox.
On Instagram Story on December 12, he said, «Give it to someone special,» alongside an emoji of a bandaged heart, signifying sadness.MGK’s performance, which was broadcast on December 11 and is currently available for streaming on Peacock, did not hold back, in fact.
«Last Christmas, I gave you my heart but the very next day, you gave it away,» he sang onstage while playing a red guitar, laying it all out while recreating the classic Wham! song.
«This year, to save me from tears,» he said, «I’ll give it to someone special.»
The holiday special’s filming date is unknown, but MGK has experienced heartbreak before. After all, Megan has already acknowledged that there were difficult times in their relationship, even ending their engagement at one point.
«What I’ve learned from being in this relationship is that it’s not for public consumption,» the Transformers alum—who started dating MGK in 2020—shared during a March appearance on Call Her Daddy.
