Gisele Bundchen confirmed almost a year after her divorce from Tom Brady that things haven’t been simple. She stated that moving to Tampa Bay, then Miami, divorcing Tom, and caring for her ageing parents over the course of a few years had been «tough.»

«It’s been very tough on my family,» she told PEOPLE in a September 18 interview. «It’s been a lot in all aspects of my life.» It seems to me that whenever it rains, it pours. With all of life’s twists and turns, all we can do is the best we can given what happens.

Gisele’s response is self-care, which is not unexpected given her near-perfect beauty over the years. The former Victoria’s Secret model, now 43, told the magazine that she works out «every single day» and watches her diet.

«I think it would’ve been very difficult if I didn’t have all of the different tools that I have to support me during these times,» she said. «And I think we can all relate to that because we’ve all been on life’s roller coasters.»

The mom of two (plus stepmom to Tom’s eldest son Jack Brady, 16) believes that being «present» is essential to health.

«Sometimes, we can get so disconnected from our bodies because we are running away from ourselves, so we just keep adding more things for us to do,» she explained.

«Give me whatever I want to eat or drink.» You’re simply in this state. It’s wonderful to be able to pull oneself back into feeling your body and simply being present. You’re almost in your body and completely present. You’re connecting and breathing.»
