«Wow,» the actress wrote in her Instagram caption. «Griselda was my first dramatic role, and we spent 15 years bringing her to life.

I am extremely grateful to everyone who took part in this series. I could not have done it without my director Andres Baiz, costar Alberto Guerra, Eric Newman, and the entire creative team…

I never imagined that after Modern Family, I’d be able to be a part of something as unique as Griselda. I’m pleased to be acknowledged alongside Jodi, Brie, Juno, and Naomi, all wonderful women who created incredible television this year.

Thank you, Television Academy, for this great honor!»In Griselda, Vergara portrayed the title character, Griselda Blanco, a real-life Colombian drug lord in the 1970s and 1980s. The 52-year-old actor used transforming prosthetics to become the notorious cartel lord. She also worked as an executive producer for the project.
