She adorned the music album of his favorite German band, and now adorns his life. A young man from Murmansk under the nickname Sochtscho told the incredible story of meeting his future wife in the public Pikabu and collected hundreds of enthusiastic comments in a day.

“When I was 14 years old, I was into gothic music. One day I wanted to discover new names, and I went to the store to buy some CD. The saleswoman Oksana (now she is like a sister to me) advised me to buy the album of the German band Silke Bischoff.

I really liked the cover with a photo of a girl, of course, the music. For me, this group was mysterious, they fascinated with their strange music and art. Plus, her releases weren’t easy to find.»

Three years later, the guy created his own musical project, thanks to which he moved from Murmansk to St. Petersburg. Traveled with concerts throughout Russia, Ukraine and Belarus. In one of the cities he met a girl. They dated for two and a half years, but cooled off towards each other.

“One day I wanted to be alone. I decided to find out what’s new with Silke Bischoff (by the way, they later renamed themselves 18 Summers). When I searched for news on the official pages of the group, I constantly saw the same girl that they used as a model. At that moment, dreaming, I thought to myself: “Oh, I wish I could marry her …”

But, having driven away these naive thoughts from himself, the young man soon forgot about his favorite group again. Yes, and musical tastes have changed, by that time he was already a big fan of jazz.

«Several years have passed. I’m 26, I’m lying on the couch and remembering my past years. I also remembered Silke Bischoff. I decided to look for news about them on Instagram.

I entered the desired hashtag and again saw the photo of the same girl from the cover. I liked her, she liked me. I texted her ‘Hello’ and it all started.»

Every day they exchanged messages on Facebook (an extremist organization banned in Russia).

“I remember our first What’s App call. I know English quite well, so there was no language barrier, but Julia’s native language — that’s her name — is German. I started learning this language, thanks to the program «Polyglot».

The first date was on Skype. He bought roses and wine. She put on a beautiful dress. Young people began to communicate in the summer, and in the fall the girl flew to her beloved in St. Petersburg.

“When I met her at the airport, and it immediately became clear to me: I want to be with her. On the fourth day, I proposed to her. She said yes.
After 10 days, she flew back, and the couple talked at a distance for three months, simultaneously solving complex bureaucratic issues for registering a marriage.

“In January, I came to her in Germany, met her family. I did not feel very comfortable in communication — my German was still bad, and her family did not speak English very well. The next month we flew to St. Petersburg and got married on Valentine’s Day.

We did not have a celebration with guests, there were no wedding dresses. All because of the German bureaucracy – we spent about 1,000 euros on documents and translations alone.”

We decided to live in Germany.

“Russian for Julia is like Chinese characters for me. In addition, she has a job in Germany and a son, now he is 12.

More than a year has passed since the young man finally moved to his beloved. He already communicates fluently with her in German, although he admits that he is still far from perfect knowledge of the language.

And at the end of July, the couple flies to St. Petersburg.

“A year and a half after the registration of the marriage, we decided to celebrate the wedding. Everything is ready for the ceremony of our wedding celebration.”
