On Friday, November 1, the 61-year-old actress attended a special showing of the popular disaster movie from 1996 at Rhode Island Comic Con. The Mad About You actress recalled her unique on-screen chemistry with costar Bill Paxton, who passed away in 2017 at the age of 61 from complications following surgery, during a pre-screening Q&A.

She compared their relationship to that of Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant in the iconic 1938 film Bringing Up Baby. «I think we immediately had the chemistry,» she told the audience.

«There’s this old trope that is true,» she said, «Sometimes you have chemistry with someone and you love everything they say and you want to jump in their arms, and other times they drive you crazy — and that’s another kind of chemistry.»

«So I think we both realized that was what was asked of us in this,» she said. Hunt continued by thanking her Twister co-star Jami Gertz, who portrayed Hunt’s type of romantic rival, for helping her and Paxton click.

«She’s playing someone who’s such a drag,» Hunt stated. «And doesn’t want to ruin her suit, so she keeps asking the same old dull questions. I really owe her for making me appear cool by doing that.
