A man lives in Uganda, an East African country, with his 12 wives, 102 children, and 568 grandchildren. He has a family of over 600 people! He quickly realized that having a large family causes him financial difficulties, and he claims that he is no longer adding to them.

67-year-old Musa Hasahya married 12 women because polygamy is legal in his country. He had a successful career when he was younger and had children for many years with his wives.

When his family grew to over 600 members, he decided to stop adding to it. He discovered that raising them was difficult, and Musa was responsible for all of the family’s expenses.

«My income has dwindled over the years due to rising living costs, and my family has grown larger and larger,» Musa explained.

When Musa’s family was having difficulty eating their meals, two of his wives had already left him. He encouraged his wives to use birth control pills.

«I’m not having any more children,» his youngest wife, Zulaika, the mother of 11 children, said. I’m taking the birth control pill because I’ve seen the bad financial situation.»

Musa dropped out of school at the age of 16 and married his first wife. They had a daughter two years later. He married more women and had more children soon after.

«I married one woman after another,» he claims. How can a man be content with just one woman? I couldn’t be happy with just one wife, so I married twelve.» Musa was experiencing financial strain as his family grew.

«Now I feel unhappy because my family has grown larger,» Musa says. All of Hasahya’s wives live in the same house, but in 12 different rooms. This, according to Musa, will keep his wives from cheating.

«This will make it easier for me to monitor them and keep them from eloping with other men in the village,» he explained. Their large family, on the other hand, gets along well.

Musa’s first wife said he is a good husband who treats everyone fairly. He takes care of all of their requirements. «We share a house, and he’s a good husband for us,» his wife claims.

Musa’s children range in age from 6 to 51 years old, with the oldest child being 21 years older than the youngest wife. The youngest is only six years old. Musa claims that he can tell his children apart from his grandchildren but has trouble remembering their names.

«I can’t bear having any more children,» Musa said, citing his financial difficulties. Stop if you want to marry more than four women. Do not emulate my behavior because it is harmful.»
