I wake up every day and don’t remember the last 23 years! how does a woman who has no memory live
Her story will make you cry.
29-year-old Chloe Barnard — at first glance, an ordinary girl. She works as a bartender, lives with her boyfriend, 39-year-old James, loves to travel and is into fashion. There’s just one problem: every morning when she wakes up, she can’t remember most of her life, thinking she’s still six years old.
Chloe has a rare brain disorder that doctors believe was caused by a stroke. The girl suffered it at the age of 19. It seemed that there were no consequences. But soon she began to experience short-term amnesia. Attacks usually occur in the morning when Chloe wakes up.

Most often she thinks that she is still a little girl. Sometimes the number of forgotten years decreases and Barnard considers himself a teenager. She doesn’t remember anything from her life after a certain age. No job, no friends, no lover.
“I can come back at any age. Most often I go back to six years. It’s terrible,» she says.
Barnard recalls waking up in the middle of the night one day because some noise woke her up. She didn’t even recognize her house. I went down the stairs and in the living room downstairs sat James with their dog.
“I sat down on the stairs and asked: “Who are you, and where does the dog come from? Where are my mom and dad?»
Fortunately, Chloe’s boyfriend already knew what to do in such cases. The main thing is not to panic and put Chloe to some more sleep. Although it is not easy. Once she tried to defend herself against the “stranger” with a wrench, another time she called the police for help.

“I asked if my mom and dad knew that I was with him and asked him to call them. My mom told me that we love each other and we are engaged. I wanted to believe her, but I couldn’t, and it was very hard for me, ”recalls the girl.
One morning, Chloe woke up again in this state, and James urgently had to go to work. He could not leave her and decided to take her with him. When they stopped at a gas station, Barnard asked the employees for help — she thought that an unknown man was simply kidnapping her.
As a result, the situation was cleared up and Chloe got back into the car, falling asleep on the way. “I got back in the car and fell asleep. And when I woke up, I was no longer 6, but 19 years old.
At this age, I already knew James, but we did not meet. I was wondering why we are together in the car. He just said, «You’re dizzy,» which is what he calls my seizures. I fell asleep again, and when I woke up, I was already in perfect order.

The girl had her first seizure 4 years ago. She was in a pub with James and their mutual friend. She went to the restroom, and when she returned, she could not recognize her companions.
Then she just didn’t say anything to them. «I thought they were my father’s friends,» Barnard explained. But when it was time for everyone to go home, and Chloe was supposed to drive the car, the truth came out.
She just forgot how to drive. At the age at which the girl «turned out», she still did not have rights.
Chloe’s boyfriend called her mother. Everyone was alarmed, thinking that she might have another stroke. But everything worked out. Although what to do with periodic memory loss, doctors still do not know, and only shrug.
