Swift, then 21 years old, spoke up in a recently rediscovered 2011 interview with 60 Minutes that was included on the most recent episode of the show’s A Second Look podcast. She expressed her want for a future partner to be able to handle celebrity on the same level as she does.

She said to the magazine at the time, «It’s so heartbreaking when things click, but your comfort level with fame is so different than [the person you’re dating].» «Because I’m not bothered. To some people, it matters who is looking, but not to me.
Swift, who is currently 34, also emphasized how «A person who cares so much couldn’t genuinely have a decent relationship with you. It seems a bit excessive to be so concerned with keeping people out.
Fortunately for the singer’s desires, a little more than ten years later, she would discover a partner who seemed to be completely focused on the attention their public relationship garners. Since announcing their relationship to the world,
she and 34-year-old Kelce have been photographed at various events, including the U.S. Open, the 2024 Super Bowl, and low-key romantic nights out in New York City.Even at Swift’s London Eras Tour performance, the NFL player carried her across the stage while dressing in a black tuxedo.
