In a rare public appearance, Kate Middleton surprises cancer patients at the same hospital where she received treatment the previous year
On Tuesday, January 14, the Princess of Wales paid a visit to London’s Royal Marsden Hospital.
At the same hospital where she received treatment last year, Kate Middleton shocked cancer patients.
The 43-year-old Princess of Wales made an uncommon public appearance at London’s Royal Marsden Hospital on Tuesday, January 14. During her visit, Kate met patients undergoing treatment and expressed gratitude to the medical personnel for their support and care after her cancer diagnosis last year.
The Princess’s visit was intended to promote the hospital’s treatment offerings as well as to express her gratitude to the personnel. Photographs showed Kate hugging another person she met and talking to patients receiving chemotherapy.
During her visit, the Princess stated, «The treatments are really so different and so varied, it impacts families differently,» according to the BBC.
She said, «I was just saying, coming in the front entrance here, having made so many quiet, private visits, actually it’s quite nice,» referring to her experience going back to the hospital after finishing her treatment.
A spokesperson for Kensington Palace stated, «The Princess wanted to make the journey to both show her gratitude to the incredible team, but also highlight the world leading care and treatment the Marsden provides.»The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust was announced to have Kate and her husband, Prince William, as joint sponsors shortly after her visit.
