In response to Carrie Underwood, Kelly Clarkson becoming a judge for American Idol
Kelly Clarkson, a fellow American Idol winner, exclusively told E! News that she thinks it’s «brilliant» that Carrie Underwood will be joining the competition show as a judge for the next season.
Kelly Clarkson is aware that Carrie Underwood has been anticipating this particular moment. The presenter of The Kelly Clarkson Show, whose sixth season premieres on NBC on September 23,
expressed her excitement for her fellow American Idol alumna Katy Perry to return to the competition show as a judge in the upcoming season. «I think that’s brilliant,» Kelly said in an exclusive interview with Keltie Knight, cohost of E! News, which aired on September 12. «Like, what better person to have—somebody that’s won that show to come back.»
As a judge on The Voice and the winner of the first season of American Idol, Kelly also has firsthand experience with the amazing feeling of being a part of a music competition show.
«Look at these artists and go, ‘No, no, no, this isn’t lip service,» she said, elaborating on her experience. I have actually been in your shoes, and I can attest that this is a difficult process.»
Furthermore, Kelly thinks that Carrie, the winner of American Idol’s fourth season, will also be able «to be honest with them,» particularly since she went through the same process and went on to have such «a huge career.»
