Adele has big plans for her upcoming break.
On Friday, the superstar appeared on The Graham Norton Show, just days after her glamorous appearance at the 2022 BRIT Awards.
The «I Drink Wine» singer addressed the postponement of her Vegas residency and revealed why she’s planning new dates for this year during her interview, which she wore a gray Fendi pantsuit for.
When asked about the postponed concert dates, the 30-year-old singer said she «tried my hardest» to put on the show on time, citing material delays and a lack of manpower due to the pandemic.
«It would have been a really sloppy show, and I can’t do that,» she explained. «People will see right through me on stage….
«I’ve never done anything like that before, and I’m not about to start now.»
«We are now working our tails off, but I don’t want to announce a new set of dates until I am confident that everything will be ready,» she added.
The «Easy on Me» singer also stated that the concerts will «absolutely happen» this year, before adding, «I want a baby next year.» Her ex-husband, entrepreneur Simon Konecki, already has a 9-year-old son, Angelo.
«I have plans for the coming year. Imagine if I had to cancel because I was expecting a child!» she added.
Adele also stated that she has been making a «conscious effort to stop being so anal with my privacy» recently, explaining that she usually uses the time between albums to recharge and that she would like to expand her family.
«I’ll be disappearing in terms of my music, but you might catch a glimpse of me now and then, and I won’t be completely hidden,» she said. «It takes me a while to recharge, and I’d like to have more children—I only recently feel like I’ve caught up on my sleep from nine years ago, when I had my son.»
Graham Norton, the show’s host, also mentioned the engagement rumors that have been circulating since Adele wore a massive diamond on her ring.
Despite the fact that she was still wearing the ring, she refused to say whether she and her boyfriend, sports agent Rich Paul, had taken their relationship to the next level.
«As if I’d ever tell anyone whether I was or wasn’t,» she joked. When Norton mentioned that she appears to be engaged, she replied, «Alright.»
