Emma Roberts would consider herself «lucky» to play Britney Spears in the forthcoming biopic.
Following the announcement that a biopic based on Spears’ 2023 novel The Woman in Me is in the works, Felicia Culotta, the singer’s longtime secretary, told TMZ that she believes Roberts, 33, would make a suitable candidate to play Spears, 42, in the movie.
In response to the proposal, Roberts remarked, «I was like, I love her assistant,» in a recent interview with Cosmopolitan. «Acting like Britney Spears is really my fantasy come true. Although it’s just a rumor, perhaps it will come to pass.»
«I mean, I remember I locked myself in my room and listened to [Spears’ 2003 album] In the Zone and said, ‘I cannot leave this room until I memorize every word,'» the Scream Queens alum revealed to the magazine, demonstrating his lengthy fandom for Spears.
Roberts continued by saying that she now loves singing Britney Spears songs to her son Rhodes, who is three years old, «in the bath all the time.»
