Jamie won a lawsսit against McDօnald’s, proving that their food is only suitable for dogs
Renowned chef and TV presenter Jamie Oliver showed how chemicals can turn a dog-only food into a human-friendly one and won a lawsuit against one of the world’s largest fast food chains, McDonald’s.
In his show «Food Revolution», Oliver revealed what hamburger patties are actually made of, which seriously damaged the reputation of the largest chain of fast food restaurants, McDonald’s.
McDonald’s has always claimed that their products are so cheap (although they aren’t that cheap, in my opinion) because they buy meat in gigantic bulk.
In fact, in the production of fillings for hamburgers, they use unfit for food waste from meat production, previously washed in ammonium hydroxide to disinfect and give an “edible” pink color.
“In general terms, you take a product that is only suitable for dogs, but after such processing it is served to people. Tell me, what sane person would feed his child with meat with ammonium? Oliver says in his broadcast.
The chef figuratively called McDonald’s semi-finished meat products “pink mud” because of their characteristic color and complete lack of nutritional value. By the way, in the US, the use of ammonium hydroxide, also known as food additive E527, is part of a «manufacturing procedure» approved by the USDA.
The company has now said that it is going to change the recipe, but does not admit that the reason for the incident is Oliver’s statements.
