Jane Fonda says her friends are delighted with her talent in the film with Lopez
The multiplely detained and imprisoned Jane Fonda remarked that her fellow prisoners «had far more important things to think about» than her films.
Jane Fonda is talking about her «eye-opening» prison experience. On the SiriusXM podcast Where Everybody Knows Your Name,

the 86-year-old actress and activist talked about her most recent overnight stay in jail—not her first, she pointed out—with presenters Ted Danson and Woody Harrelson. Fonda remembered, «I was the only white person there.»
She went on, «Many other inmates, Black ladies, could have cared less who I was. They weren’t familiar with any of my films, and they all had far more pressing matters to consider.

However, one well-known costar of Fonda’s, Jennifer Lopez, attracted the interest of her fellow prisoners. The star of the 2005 romantic comedy about a cunning would-be mother-in-law declared, «They had seen Monster-in-Law.»

The two-time Oscar winner joked, «I pulled that card and they were mildly impressed, but not really.» They immediately returned to discussing their problems, which were survival-related.
It opened my eyes. In actuality, Fonda’s imprisonment stemmed from her detention for the «fifth time» in a row in 2019 — for swarming, obstructing, or incommoding while demonstrating in public to draw attention to the dangers of climate change.
