«There was something that happened in the context of the show that was presented as if it happened in real life by the tabloids,» host Jimmy Kimmel said, showing up an image of Aniston.

«You was splashed by—well, your character got splashed with oil… It appeared that somebody done this to you.» The 55-year-old Friends alum described how she was later inundated with messages from concerned loved ones attempting to check in.

«I was receiving endless texts asking, ‘Are you okay?'» What has happened to you? «This is terrible,» she recalled, before pointing to tabloid allegations. «But yeah, they just didn’t mention that it was in the [show].»
